We came across this exquisite buffet at an estate in Marseille. The lift-up top reveals a marble surface, which was a practical design choice for serving and preparing food, combining the durability and ease of cleaning marble with the traditional charm of wooden furniture. 
This piece is circa 1800s and is in gorgeous antique condition. Note the structured and symmetrical design with clean lines, typical of the Louis XVI style. The drawers slide open easily and the piece is stable and solid. Note some minor signs of scratches and wear consistent with age.
